PONTIFICAL CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY OF MINAS GERAIS - PUC Minas
The Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais – PUC Minas, founded in 1958, is one of the five largest universities in Brazil. Its activities concentrate mostly in the Belo Horizonte Campus, divided into four units – Coração Eucarístico, Barreiro, São Gabriel and Praça da Liberdade – and two university centres – Betim and Contagem. PUC Minas also comprises campi in four regions of the State of Minas Gerais: Arcos, Poços de Caldas, Serro and Guanhães. Altogether, PUC Minas has about 60.000 students, 2.000 faculty members and 1.800 staff members.
GRADUATE PROGRAM IN DENTISTRY
The aim of the Graduate Program in Dentistry of the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais is to promote formation of qualified human resources for the academic activities such as teaching and research development in the dentistry field.
COURSES AND OBJECTIVES
MASTER OF SCIENCE AND DOCTOR OF SCIENCE IN DENTISTRY
GENERAL OBJECTIVES: The program aims to develop educational and research activities related to critical analysis, development and dissemination of knowledge, innovation and training of qualified human resources.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: To develop teaching, research and other activities that contributes to the advancement and dissemination of knowledge in Dentistry; To improve the critical analysis, independence, creativity and leadership; To contribute to the development of the society through the training of professionals with the capacity to understand and act in the current regional, national and international political, social and economical context; To adopt and stimulate scientific, professional and personal actions based on ethical and humanistic principles.
PROFESSIONAL MASTER OF SCIENCE
GENERAL OBJECTIVES: The Program aims to develop educational, investigative and clinical activities dedicated to clinical high level qualification in Dentistry. Additionally, it also aims to promote innovation and training of qualified human resources for teaching and research analysis and development.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: To teach and allow conduction of advanced clinical activities, contributing to the professional qualification in Orthodontics or Implantodontics; To develop teaching, research and other activities, contributing to the advancement and dissemination of knowledge in in Orthodontics or Implantodontics; To innovate and generate qualified human resources; To train professionals with capacity for critical analysis, independence, creativity, leadership and willingness to cooperate, engendering autonomous professional, in companies and in public or private organizations; To contribute to the development of the society through the training of professionals with capacity to understand and act in the current regional, national and international political, social and economical context; To adopt and stimulate scientific, professional and personal actions based on ethical and humanistic principles.
