Selection Process

The regular selection processes for both the master’s and doctoral program occur twice a year, once in mid-June and then again in mid-December.

Candidates can also apply for the doctoral program all year round outwith the regular selection process.

- MASTER'S SELECTION PROCESS

The master's selection process has two stages:

- The first stage consists of: analyzing the candidate's curriculum vitae and research project; and a written exam the details of which are outlined in the call for applications. 
- The second stage consists of an interview with the selection committee.

In addition, candidates must take an exam to verify English language proficiency. Candidates who are native English speakers must take a test in another language.


- DOCTORAL SELECTION PROCESS

The doctoral selection process has two stages:

- The first step consists of analyzing the candidate's curriculum vitae and research proposal.
- The second stage consists of an interview with the selection committee.

In addition, candidates must take an exam to verify proficiency in two languages: English (mandatory) and, Spanish or French (either one of the two). Native speakers of any of the above can be exempted, upon request, from undertaking an examination in their mother tongue. However, they will still need to demonstrate proficiency in a second language from those listed above.
