The II Symposium on Theology and Sciences of Religion proposes a reflection on the serious problem of the banalization of evil, searching to understand its meaning and multiple representations. The theme will be investigated from various perspectives, going from Philosophy, Theology and Sciences of Religion to its unfoldings in Literature, Law, Communication, Ecology, Education, Psychology, Social Sciences and International Relations.

The problem of evil, its meaning and representations, is an always present question which acquires, contemporarily, new and challenging outlines.

During the preparation of the event, a debate network was established among the courses, groups and sections from the area of Philosophy and Theology, and also with other Institutes, Faculties and Courses in the University. In this Symposium, several fields of knowledge will dedicate themselves to the interdisciplinary thinking of a problem that, besides theoretical abstractions, demands an accurate analysis and urging response.

We invite scholars of religious phenomenon, as well as other investigators and scientists, the organized civil society, social movements, governmental organs and NGOs, to take part in this event and to record their contribution to the debate.
